A new chapter for Hunts Forum after 30 years, as merger is accepted by members

We are thrilled to share the news that our members have officially approved our merger proposal! Starting 1st April 2024, Hunts Forum and CCVS will unite under the banner of Support Cambridgeshire, delivering vital services and support across the entire county of Cambridgeshire.

This exciting milestone was announced during a memorable Annual General Meeting (AGM), where we celebrated both the past and the future. The evening was exceptional as it marked the 30th anniversary of Hunts Forum and the final AGM of our CEO, Julie Farrow, before her departure. Julie’s leadership has been instrumental in driving our mission forward, and her legacy leaves us inspired and ready for the road ahead. Reflecting on her journey, Julie remarked, “One person never does great things; a team of people does them.” She expressed her privilege of being part of such an exceptional team and a wonderful organisation. With gratitude, she thanked all the people she had the pleasure of working with—trustees, past and present, staff, volunteers, and colleagues. Julie assured everyone that they would forever be in her thoughts and heart.

We were also privileged to welcome Rich Warrington, Deputy CEO of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), who shared a compelling and insightful perspective on the challenges and opportunities awaiting the voluntary sector. His reflections gave us food for thought as we prepare for this new chapter.

Reflecting on Achievements
The evening was a celebration of milestones achieved within the community over the years. From empowering local organisations to building resilient networks, Hunts Forum has had a meaningful impact, and we are committed to carrying this momentum into our new identity as Support Cambridgeshire.

Looking Ahead
With the merger, we are ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with delivering services across a larger geography. Support Cambridgeshire will be a unified force for positive change, fostering collaboration and providing essential resources to communities and organisations throughout the county.

Thank You to Our Members
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the members who joined us for the AGM and supported this important decision. Your trust and partnership are the foundation of everything we do, and we were delighted to share this celebration with you.
