Goodbye, Hello and Welldone
Goodbye RO’s, Hello Good to Go and Welldone CARESCO and Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust. With spring there are changes, which is no different at Hunts Forum. Read on to hear what is happening here.
Hunts Forum, its Trustees and staff, have agreed that as we commemorate the 2nd year anniversary of the pandemic, it is now time to say goodbye to our COVID 19 Recognised Organisation Accreditation (ROs). We want to thank all 14 of those amazing organisations who agreed to hold the accreditation during the pandemic and also thank our communities’ incredible work and contribution. However, the staff and trustees of Hunts Forum acknowledge that the reasons for the accreditation being created have now ended. There is not the same call for action there was back in March 2020, and like all good things, it must come to an end. HDC will continue to use this term. However, it will no longer refer to Hunts Forum’s accreditation, but those groups HDC work with.
You can, however, read more about the accreditation and the impact of these unique groups in our story here
Do not worry, however. The RO Accreditation did prove to us the tremendous impact that this type of recognition from Hunts Forum had on those few community groups. So many groups highlighted what confidence it gave the staff and volunteers, the fantastic feedback they received from funders, and how their local community believed in them.
We wanted to take that extraordinary impact and create something long-term and accessible for all community groups. Along with something which reflects each organisation’s way of working, rather than a response to a pandemic. Therefore, we are launching our Good to Go: Good Governance mark, which is now OPEN for submissions. This mark is about Hunts Forum supporting all VCSE groups with the basics of good governance and identifying how to improve where needed.
There are some hoops to jump through, including successfully fulfiling the criteria and a review through an independent panel. After that, you’ll receive your accreditation mark to demonstrate how awesome you are.
A big well done goes to CARESCO and Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust, who have already successfully achieved the mark through the pilot we carried out last year.
CARESCO are thrilled to have been successful in our application for the Hunts Forum Good Governance Mark. The application process was simple to navigate through and to complete and we had plenty of helpful advice and assistance from the Hunts Forum team at every stage.
Ramsey Neighbourhoods Trust(RNT) are delighted to be one of the first organisations to be awarded the Good Governance Mark. RNT has worked hard to grow into an organisation that is trusted by the community serves, and it is fantastic to have this recognised.e.
The process itself was also a chance for trustees, staff and volunteers to reflect upon our practices and procedures. As an organisation that is constantly striving for improvement, it was good to take time to review and update our structures where necessary.
RNT hopes that this mark will show that we are an organisation that can be trusted to provide high quality activities and services that have appropriate and robust standards of governance.
If you think your organisation would like to go forward for the award read up more here and fill in the form at the bottom of the webpage.
