Hunts Forum gets gold at SME Awards

It all started with a suggestion from one of our Trustees, Hayley Williams. Who said ‘ You should go for this!’ so Julie and I looked at each other and thought, why not.

We applied for the Community Business of the Year late in 2021. We talked about how, long before COVID hit, we had been a well-known organisation within the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector in Cambridgeshire.

Going on to highlight the work we had done during COVID with the Hunts Forum Recognised Organisations (RO) accreditation for non-profit community groups, how this had empowered individuals and collectives and how we integrated with business and other partners to make sure that we were an essential point of contact, support and advice throughout the COVID pandemic.

Receiving this award highlights the considerable impact community groups had within Huntingdonshire and showcases that infrastructure charities like Hunts Forum are vital to keeping people connected.

We hope this award will allow us to start to connect more with local businesses so we can link them with community groups across the district because we are stronger together.

Below are a few images from the night as you will see we were all a little shocked.
