Safe and high quality services
This Pinpoint Cambridgeshire charity operates to help Cambridgeshire parents who have children with additional needs and disabilities.
What makes it so special is it operates for parents – by parents.
Issues
This charity was seeking an opportunity to participate in a quality assurance scheme. They aimed to demonstrate their commitment to delivering safe and high-quality services and to enhance the credibility of the charity in the eyes of funders, potential funders and stakeholders.
Solutions
Following an initial meeting with our development worker, we learnt more about this special charity and how it operates. We became aware of how COVID-19 impacted their service delivery, how they adapted to ensure they were still available to support the families and discussed their plans for the future. It was clear they were a forward-thinking charity that would embrace and benefit from the opportunity to complete the Good Governance Mark managed by Hunts Forum.
Benefit One
Participating in a quality mark provided a tangible way for the charity to demonstrate their commitment to accountability, thereby instilling confidence in their funders, potential funders, and stakeholders.
Benefit Two
The Good to Go process highlighted any potential reputational, financial, and operational risks, making mitigating recommendations to reduce the likelihood of negative impacts.
Benefit Three
Following assessment of their governance structure the Good to Go mark provides reassurance that they are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
Benefit Four
The policy review strengthened their policies and procedures to ensure they reflect how the charity operates and continues to safeguard their service users, volunteers, trustees, and staff.
