Overview:

Enhance your skills as an effective representative of your voluntary sector organisation. Learn how to play a role within your community, and wider systems, and engage effectively with potential supporters.

Who Should Attend?

· Volunteers, trustees, and staff involved in local charitable or community organisations, regardless of size.

· Anyone looking to improve their effectiveness in meetings and community events.

Training Focus:

This session will help you reflect on your role as a representative in the voluntary sector, covering preparation and communication skills. It will empower you to feel more confident in meetings with statutory organisations, where jargon and hierarchy can be challenging, and guide you on navigating networking functions effectively.

Representing your organisation often requires skills we aren’t naturally prepared for. This training aims to boost your confidence and make your role as a representative more effective and rewarding for both you and your organisation.

Key Learning Outcomes:

· Recognise and understand the different roles of representation you take on as a volunteer, trustee, or staff member.

· Gain insight into preparing for different types of meetings and events.

· Build confidence by sharing experiences and learning with peers in a supportive setting.

Format: This is an in-person session, featuring both structured learning and peer interaction in a supportive environment.

Trainer: Kathy Shaw, Senior Development Officer at Hunts Forum, will lead the training.
